The Ash Hurley is a fine piece of Craftmanship and I feel I have perfected it over my time making them.

A lot of time, care and labour goes into the making of a hurley from the time the trees are harvested to the finished product.

The different styles and sizes are cut out of the Ash Plank using a bandsaw before they pass through the specially designed lathe. Once the lathe has finished machining the piece of Ash you will notice the hurley starting to take shape and is now ready to go through the first stage of sanding on the belt sander before being hand finished  and given the final touches using the hand-held finishing sanders. At this stage the hurl is ready for it’s new owner. If the customer requires a steel ban single or double and maybe a grip fitted this service is also provided at my workshop.
